Severnside HSTs

Between 2005 April 4 and April 29, trains which would normally have used the Severn Tunnel were diverted or bustituted to allow engineering work in Patchway Tunnels. HSTs between London and South Wales were diverted, crossing the Severn at Gloucester and continuing to London via the Stroud Valley, leading to the rare sight of HSTs on the line between Gloucester and Severn Tunnel Junction.
