Joint account

Walking in the city
It might have been
The choke of rumbling traffic
Got too much for me
Climbed upon a green hill
Under autumn's cloak
Found a quiet corner
Rolled myself a smoke

Air so cool and vibrant
Birdsong in the trees
Leaves of gold and crimson
Rustling in the breeze
Hawthorn berries reddening
Cooling grass and flowers
Blackbirds in the hedgerows
Nature's magic powers

Everything is coloured
With twilight's gentle hues
Earth and dusk horizon
Merge in misty blues
All so calm and peaceful
Just beneath the sky
Oasis in the city
Heaven up so high
